Body Mass Index (BMI) is a statistical measurement of the human body according to the height and weight. It can be calculated in three units as SI, US, UK.
Normal BMI range for healthy men between 23.5 to 25.0
Normal BMI range for healthy women between 22.0 to 23.5

Starvation:
Starvation is a state of hunger results from lacking of nutrition in human body. In this category a man/women will have BMI range less than 15. The basic cause of starvation is an imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure. Losing substantial fats and muscle mass are the symptoms of starvation. Common result of starvation is Vitamin deficiency.
Reasons of starvation:
- Coma
- Stroke
- Fasting
- Poverty
- Depression
- Eating disorders
Underweight:
Underweight is a state of less than normal bmi and higher than starvation. In this state a man/women will have BMI range from 15 to 18.5. Underweight causing variety of factors including cancer, diabetes, psychological problems,etc.,
Normal:
Normal BMI consider as less than overweight and higher than underweight. In this state a man/women will have BMI range between 18.5 to 25.
Overweight:
Overweight consider as less than obesity and higher than normal or disirable. In this state a man/women will have BMI range with 25 to 30. It will cause problems. Overweight causing breathing problems, cancers, high blood pressure, diabetes.
Obesity:
Obesity is an abnormal accumulation of body fat more than ideal weight. Above the overweight consider as obese. In this state a man/women will have BMI range greater than 30.

- Genetics
- Frequency of eating
- High carbohydrates
- Overeating
- Slow metabolism
- Diseases
